Did you know that there is a resource right here on the Grand Strand that matches seasoned and certified subject matter expert consultants with small businesses?
Did you know that this organization has assisted international brands such as Jelly Belly and Vera Bradley, as well as local brands like Eggs Up Grill and the Power of Elderberries? Did you know that this organization recently expanded into the Pee Dee region and is continuously growing?
Did you know that this organization is known as SCORE and that its services are provided free of charge to small business owners, courtesy of its volunteer mentors? It’s OK if you did not know one or more or even all these facts. Because Grand Strand SCORE has resolved to increase its visibility significantly. From now on, not only it will publish articles such as this, but it will run a regular social media campaign, “Get to Know SCORE, Get to Know More.”
Grand Strand SCORE Volunteer Chris Bianco is at the heart of this campaign. Chris brings in a wealth of knowledge about social media and podcasting along with his expertise in successful entrepreneurship. “When I joined SCORE, I quickly learned that we have a lot of resources to share, but that getting the word out has been a challenge.” Together with Marketing Committee members, led by the incoming chapter Vice Chair Ron Opher, Chris is spearheading the campaign through social media channels such as Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, and others.
Social media currently is the most cost-effective way to engage new followers. SCORE desires to entice more volunteers/mentors and to promote education and mentoring services to business owners who are facing challenges. Our social media campaigns aim to engage with the business world via “to the point” small video clips which will highlight the perspectives of our mentors and successful clients.
Adds Chapter Chair Irina Agoulnik “As we increase our visibility, we also have a responsibility to set workable expectations with our clients, small business owners. Clients who immerse themselves in our educational programs and stay in regular contact with their mentors are far more successful in establishing and growing their businesses. Like anything else, when you put in the effort, you are far more likely to reap the rewards.”
