Grand Strand SCORE / "EasySTEPS 5 Part Series" For Starting Your Own Business


Grand Strand SCORE offers Community Workshops that are FREE and held across the region to aide in dealing with the current business climate. Grand Strand SCORE, in conjunction with the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and the Georgetown County Board of Education, conducts business education for middle school students the first week of summer break. The program, named "Junior Apprentice", teaches business planning, market research, and teamwork. At the end of the week, teams present their conceptual companies to a local CEO who critiques their work and chooses a winner. EasySTEPS classes are presented in partnership with Horry-Georgetown Technical College (HGTC). SCORE ( and HGTC present the EasySTEPS combined workshop and mentoring program aimed at helping individuals start their own business or to improve the profitability of their existing businesses. So, if you are well along the way and have a good direction about your business idea or are already in business, the “EasySTEPS Series" workshops will help you validate your business idea. This is done by rigorous examination of your business vision and business idea. The series examines the key marketing and financial research necessary to reach a "Go - No Go decision. Save 20% by signing up for all five `Basics’ courses: Starting-A-Business / Market Planning / Local Internet Planning / Financial Planning Fundamentals and Techniques for Selling Your Business Plan. Extensive use of homework and student presentation of business ideas. Business Series of 5, 2-hour course - $100 or $25 per class.
